We take training seriously and one of the branches of training we like to focus on is Familiarization trips or FAM trips. So let's break down exactly what a FAM trip is. A FAM trip allows Gateway Travel Agents to get immersive training with a Supplier at a deeply discounted rate.
A typical FAM will be set up to allow the agent to stay on property or onboard if a Cruise, tour different room categories, explore and understand ticketing and attractions offered, eat the food, receive expert training from the supplier with lots of time for Q&A, and much much more.
As you can see, the information gained from a FAM trip is SO beneficial to our Gateway Travel Agents. Agents will walk away from a FAM able to properly explain destinations, sell destinations, and answer in detail questions for clients about the destination. We make it a priority to offer two FAM trips per year, typically in the Spring and Fall.
Wondering who can attend FAM trips? Any of our agents are welcome to attend. There is no sales quota to meet or required length of time at the agency. We value all of our agents and want all of them to have the opportunity to further their knowledge with Suppliers.
We are excited to be holding our Fall 2019 FAM Trip at Walt Disney World & Universal Studios Orlando.
VENUE
Our agents will be staying on property at the newly refurbished Coronado Springs Resort where they will get to delve into and see first hand all the re-imagined details Disney and their team have implemented.
We will also be training onsite utilizing Coronado Springs Conference Center.
ACTIVITIES WALT DISNEY WORLD
Our agents will get to take part in top-notch training with amazing conference speakers allowing them to push their travel sales, techniques, marketing, client followup, and product knowledge to new heights.
Room tours of many of the resorts allow Gateway Travel Agents to better understand the amenities and atmospheres that will best match their client's needs.
Gateway Travel Agents will also explore one of the Disney Cruise ships allowing them to see different room categories and amenities to better impart knowledge to their clients. We will also eat a meal onboard the ship.
Time to explore the Disney theme parks is crucial so that you can market and let your clients know all that you are learning to better service them when you get home from "working".
Disney offers many special event tickets and our agents will first hand see the value these can offer their clients as we Trick-or-Treat at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.
ACTIVITIES UNIVERSAL STUDIOS ORLANDO
Our agents will take part in Universal centric training allowing them to hone in their travel sales, techniques, marketing, client followup, and product knowledge on all things Universal.
Room tours of many of the Universal Resorts will allow Gateway Travel Agents to better understand the different hotel tiers and become familiar with amenities at each level.
We will end our evening of training with a park to park ticket allowing you as the Travel Agent to enjoy all the attractions Universal Studios Orland has to offer.
